Answering Claims of Paul Ross No 6. “Thou shall Crucify and Amputate non-Muslims. Koran 8:12, 47:4”

A Non Muslim reader sent me a response regarding “REFUTING CLAIM SATAN INSPIRED PROPHET IN CAVE (not GABRIEL).” His name is Paul Ross.

His TITLE: The 20 Commandments of Muhammad, the founder of Islam.

There are 20 claims that he believes inspired by satan. All I can say that he doesn’t understand anything about Islam especially Al-Qur’an. Let’s discuss it one by one.

I SKIPPED CLAIM NO 2 (2. Thou shall have Sex Slaves and Work Slaves. Koran 4:3, 4:24, 5:89,33:50, 58:3, 70:30) since this kind of discussion demanding long explanation. I will discuss this for the last Insha Allah.

6. Thou shall Crucify and Amputate non-Muslims. Koran 8:12, 47:4

Surah 8:12 is not about killing of all Non Muslims. This Surah merely against the Pagan Quraisy.

When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying): I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger.

This verse and the verses before and after were revealed about the Battle of Badr, which occurred in Arabia in the early seventh century. A battle in which the pagans of Makkah traveled more than 200 miles to Madinah with an army of about 1000 to destroy Muslims. Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) and fellow Muslims had suffered severe persecutions and torture for 13 years in the city of Makkah. And now that they had fled Makkah and found a sanctuary in the city of Madinah, they were once again threatened. Muslim Army was only about 300 strong. God Almighty gave the order to Muslims to fight to defend their lives and faith. The enemy came to them with the intent to kill Muslims. It was a war to defend themselves and their Faith. It was a war imposed upon Muslims.

To convince you, open surah 8: 15-16

O you who have believed, when you meet those who disbelieve advancing [for battle], do not turn to them your backs [in flight].-And whoever turns his back to them on such a day – unless it be a stratagem of war, or to retreat to a troop (of his own), – he indeed has drawn upon himself wrath from Allah. And his abode is Hell, and worst indeed is that destination!

Surah 47:4 again in the CONTEXT OF WAR. Not a command the KILL all the NON MUSLIMS.

I will give you three translation, so you will understand that this verse related to WAR / BATTLE / FIGHT.

So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds,…etc.

Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; …etc.

Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond …etc

The Context and Reason for Revelation:

After 12 years of persecution, the Muslims are being; tortured, expelled out of their own homes, and fleeing for their lives.

So Muslims have a right to defend themselves.

Keep in mind that the majority of the disbelievers did not even know what Islam is. Just like the majority of non Muslims do not know what Islam is today.

Most just hear propaganda against Islam by a select few media outlet people who have an agenda against Islam.

Yet when the sahaba/companions of Prophet Muhammad, and he himself would convey the amazing teachings of Islam to others, these people would be shocked at the amazing rights Islam gives to all people.

However, the elite who are against Islam fear to lose their authority which is based on injustice. So they torture and character-assassinate the believers to silence them.

Due to this – the Muslims flee to safety where they can follow the Sunnah and worship Allah without persecution.
Would these Muslims then have the right to defend and get their own properties back?

In the first battle in this Ummah (nation) – Badr, the Muslims were not commanded to fight. Rather, permission (idhn/”udhina”) was given to them to fight back to get their wealth back – which the disbelievers had stolen from their properties when the Muslims emigrated/fled to Medinah.

This is why Muslims intended to raid the Caravan of the Quraysh, because it was their own wealth they were getting back!

However, when the Muslims in Medinah (the Ansaar/helpers) heard that they had to fight the superpower of Arabia – the Quraysh, many became terrified, except the strong believers.

No-one would fight the Quraysh. Not even the strong tribes of Arabia. Since they believed that Allah was on their side because they lookaftered His holy sanctity – the Ka’ba. Even Abraha’s army of the Elephant was destroyed when he attempted to take down the Ka’ba. And there was no fear for Quraysh – where they could take whatever they wanted and nobody could/would do anything about it.
This is why no-one fought them.

Yet here the Muslims are; weak believers who fled from Makkah, with help from the Ansaar who are also in debt to the Jews of Medinah. Only a few of Medinah are actually warriors/fighters – many are just farmers.

Aayaat/verses are going to come down to order them to fight?

Nervousness settles in many peoples hearts. Yet others are willing.

This is the context in which ayah 4 comes down;

  • All the VIOLENT COMMANDS existed only in time of WAR. In WAR, you have no choice, kill of to be killed.
  • Surah 47:4 is not the COMMAND to Crucify and Amputate non-Muslims. It was in time of WAR and it was against MEKKAN PAGAN QURAISH.

Mr. Paul, how about KILLING COMMAND IN BIBLE? It is more HORRIBLE that Al-Qur’an.

Kill Followers of Other Religions.    1) If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him.  Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you.  You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.  And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst.  (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)    2) Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden.  When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death.  (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 NLT)

Your own Bible more Horrible than Al-Qur’an.
