Answering Claims of Paul Ross No 5. “Thou shall Kill those who insult Islam or Mohammed. Koran 33:57”

A Non Muslim reader sent me a response regarding “REFUTING CLAIM SATAN INSPIRED PROPHET IN CAVE (not GABRIEL).” His name is Paul Ross.

His TITLE: The 20 Commandments of Muhammad, the founder of Islam.

There are 20 claims that he believes inspired by satan. All I can say that he doesn’t understand anything about Islam especially Al-Qur’an. Let’s discuss it one by one.

I SKIPPED CLAIM NO 2 (2. Thou shall have Sex Slaves and Work Slaves. Koran 4:3, 4:24, 5:89,33:50, 58:3, 70:30) since this kind of discussion demanding long explanation. I will discuss this for the last Insha Allah.

5. Thou shall Kill those who insult Islam or Mohammed. Koran 33:57

  • There is no KILL command in the verse.

I provide you three translations of Surah 33:57. None of them showing the word KILL.

PICKTHALL
Lo! those who malign Allah and His messenger, Allah hath cursed them in the world and the Hereafter, and hath prepared for them the doom of the disdained.

MUHSIN KHAN
Verily, those who annoy Allah and His Messenger (SAW) Allah has cursed them in this world, and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating torment.

SAHIH INTERNATIONAL
Indeed, those who abuse Allah and His Messenger – Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and prepared for them a humiliating punishment.

DR. GHALI
Surely the ones who hurt Allah and His Messenger, Allah has cursed them in the present (life) (Literally: the lowly (life), i.e., the life of this world) and the Hereafter, and He has prepared for them a degrading torment.

  • The word CURSE is not the act of KILLING
  • The words  humiliating torment, humiliating punishment is not the punishment in this world bu HERE AFTER.

Read again the last sentence of the surah.

and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating torment.

So Allah the Almighty PREPARE FOR THE THE PUNISHMENT IN HEREAFTER. NOT IN THIS WORLD.

Read the EXEGESIS of Surah: 33:57 by Ibn. Katsir.

Whoever annoys Allah and His Messenger , is cursed in this World and the Hereafter
Here,Allah warns and threatens those who annoy Him by going against His commands and doing that which He has forbidden, and who persist in doing so, and those who annoy His Messenger by accusing him of having faults or shortcomings — Allah forbid. `Ikrimah said that the Ayah:

﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ﴾

(Verily, those who annoy Allah and His Messenger,) was revealed concerning those who make pictures or images. In The Two Sahihs, it is reported that Abu Hurayrah said: “The Messenger of Allah said:

«يَقُولُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: يُؤْذِينِي ابْنُ آدَمَ، يَسُبُّ الدَّهْرَ وَأَنَا الدَّهْرُ أُقَلِّبُ لَيْلَهُ وَنَهَارَه»

(Allah says: “The son of Adam annoys Me by inveighing against time, but I am time, for I cause the alternation of night and day.”)” The meaning of this Hadith is that in the Jahiliyyah they used to say, “How bad time is, it has done such and such to us!” They used to attribute the deeds of Allah to time, and inveigh against it, but the One Who did that was Allah, may He be exalted. So, He forbade them from this. Al-`Awfi reported that Ibn `Abbas said that the Ayah,

﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ﴾

(Verily, those who annoy Allah and His Messenger, ) was revealed about those who slandered the Prophet over his marriage to Safiyyah bint Huyay bin Akhtab. The Ayah appears to be general in meaning and to apply to all those who annoy him in any way, because whoever annoys him annoys Allah, just as whoever obeys him obeys Allah.

CLAIM NO 5 REFUTED.

NO SUCH THING ABOUT KILLING ORDER IN THE SENTENCE. THE WORD CURSE IS NOT THE ACT OF KILLING.
